The role will support the Deputy Head of Medical Engineering with the day-to-day running of the EME team. Ensuring standardised working practices in line with our QMS, as well as maintaining and repairing highly complex critical medical devices used within high dependency areas.
The candidate will be driven by a high level of customer service and attention to detail, and will have a broad range of technical knowledge to train and upskill the EME team.
The role will frequently require the post holder to engage with business projects across multiple sites and the adoption of new technologies in line with business requirements.

• Manage routine servicing, calibrations and repairs on a wide range of highly complex medical devices
• Responsibility to deliver the EME service provision across ASPH, ensuring KPI compliance is being met, along with maintaining ISO9001 accreditation
• Providing line management responsibilities within the EME team
• Bring a broad technical understanding and specialism supporting the wider EME team

The Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust operates a collaborative Group Model with Ashford & St Peter’s Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
Depending on the role and operational needs, the post holder may be required to undertake duties across sites within one or both organisations

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Degree level education (equivalent professional qualifications such as HNC/HND plus relevant experience of operating at this level), plus extensive experience in medical equipment
- Registration as Clinical Technologist or Scientist
Knowledge and Experience
Essential criteria
- Able to support the development of the long-term strategic plan for the delivery and on-going support of the trusts Medical Devices. Recommending future products and services as these become relevant
- Experience of monitoring service providers, and able to negotiate and manage contracts to deliver best value for the trust
- Experience of use of Microsoft Office applications e.g. Word, excel, outlook etc
- Experience of working in the patient environment
- Experience of repair & maintenance of highly complex Medical Devices and systems.
- Experience with asset management and change control Processes
Desirable criteria
- Extensive experience holding senior technical roles, preferably in NHS hospital environments
- Experience of implementation of policies and procedures, in an ISO 9001 environment
