Waldorf Astoria London – Admiralty Arch is seeking a Commis Waiter – Whiskey and Seaweed by Clare Smyth to join the pre-opening team for this highly anticipated new luxury hotel opening later this year.

This is a unique opportunity for an experienced luxury hotelier to join the founding team and help shape the guest experience at this landmark hotel.

Located at the end of The Mall opposite Buckingham Palace, Waldorf Astoria London – Admiralty Arch will feature 100 elegant rooms and suites and 17,500 sqft of private residences. The hotel will open with two signature restaurants – Coreus by Clare Smyth and Café Boulud by Daniel Boulud – bringing together two of the world’s most celebrated Michelin-starred chefs. Guests will also enjoy a world-class spa, state-of-the-art fitness facilities, and a collection of grand event spaces, including a ballroom for up to 320 guests.

We are looking for hospitality professionals who are passionate about delivering an exceptional fives star guest experience, consistently upholding the worldclass service standards recognised by Forbes.

Here’s what you’ll do during a typical day:

As a Commis Waiter – Whiskey and Seaweed by Clare Smyth, you will support the service team in delivering a polished, timely, and seamless guest experience. With a strong focus on preparation, presentation, and attentiveness, you will contribute to the refined atmosphere and operational excellence of the bar.

You will perform the following responsibilities to the highest standards of luxury hospitality:

  • Respond to guest enquiries with courtesy, efficiency, and professionalism
  • Demonstrate sound knowledge of menu items, beverages, and bar offerings
  • Follow established reporting and escalation procedures when issues arise
  • Uphold Hilton grooming and presentation standards, including uniform, cleanliness, and personal hygiene
  • Handle incoming calls professionally, accurately conveying messages without delay
  • Complete all opening, closing, and side duties efficiently and to standard
  • Maintain all service equipment in immaculate, clean, and polished condition
  • Ensure required cleaning materials and chemicals are available and correctly used
  • Ensure all bar areas are thoroughly sanitised and left spotless at the end of service
  • Replenish bar supplies, including glassware, garnishes, ice, and beverages, as required
  • Comply fully with hotel security procedures, fire regulations, and all health and safety legislation

What are we looking for?

Commis Waiters within Hilton’s luxury portfolio demonstrate professionalism, attentiveness, and a strong foundation in service excellence. To succeed in this role, you will demonstrate:

  • A positive, eager, and service-oriented attitude
  • Clear and professional verbal and written communication skills
  • A strong commitment to delivering consistently high service standards
  • Impeccable grooming and personal presentation
  • Flexibility to adapt to varied operational and service demands
  • The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a cohesive team

It would be advantageous in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:

  • Previous experience within a luxury or ultra – luxury hospitality is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of appropriate table settings, service ware, and bar presentation
  • Understanding of Food Hygiene and safety regulations
  • Ability to lift, carry, and transport items up to 50 lbs. in a busy service environment
