Role responsibilities

As STP Timetable Production Specialist, you will work as part of the team who are responsible for delivering the STP (Short Term Planning) timetable and rolling stock diagrams.

This is a role that involves communicating across the business, and with Network Rail and other operators, in preparation of timetable bids to meet the requirements of the Network Code and business objectives.

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Prepare the STP timetable bids including Special Events and submit in line with Network Rail requirements.
  • Prepare robust rolling stock diagrams for STP including Special Events.
  • Prepare and deliver cost effective bus and taxi plans.
  • Work with various teams including Control, Traincrew Diagramming, Resource Centre and Fleet to ensure diagrams meet resource and budget plans, and to ensure that plans are deliverable within available resources.
  • Communicate with Customer Services, TfW stakeholders, Conductor and Stations teams to ensure the STP timetable plan meets the needs of our passengers.
  • Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement by identifying and providing recommendations for improvements to planning and diagramming processes and systems.

Who we’re looking for

  • Excellent IT skills and knowledge
  • Demonstratable experience of achieving deadlines and maintaining excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with an ability to use own initiative and forward planning
  • Good communication skills with demonstratable experience of working effectively as a team and independently
  • Previous experience/knowledge of the railway industry would be beneficial to your application but is not essential – full training will be provided

Welsh Language Skills

The ability to speak/write Welsh would make a great addition to your application, but it is not essential for this role.
