The role
This is a teaching role – but with purpose. As a Freelance Essential Skills Literacy Tutor, you’ll help young people achieve English qualifications that unlock opportunities. From communication to confidence, your lessons will give learners the skills they need to thrive.
You’ll:
- Plan and deliver engaging Literacy lessons aligned to the Essential Skills curriculum.
- Deliver accredited qualifications and support learners through assessment.
- Build learner confidence in communication, reading and writing.
- Keep accurate records, safeguarding and compliance standards.
- Support progression into work, training or education.
The person
Let me ask you:
- Do you have GCSE (A-C) or equivalent in English (or Level 2 Essential Skills Communication)?
- Do you have a recognised teaching qualification in line with ES Circular 01/12?
- Have you delivered Essential Skills Literacy / Communication before?
- Are you passionate about building confidence in everyday English?
