Full time, 35 hours. Flexible and hybrid working. Ideally, 1-2 days per week at our Head Office in Skipton.

£46,150 Per Annum

This is a great opportunity for an individual with a keen interest in continuing to develop their technical capability in credit risk management. We are recruiting a Senior Credit Risk Analyst  position in the Credit Risk Oversight team.

You will apply your breadth of experience in credit risk and your analytical capability to understand emerging credit risk trends and evolve our credit risk capability.

The Credit Risk Oversight team, of 15 individuals, is part of the Group Risk func
tion. Our core role is to support our purpose to help more people to have a home, by applying a proactive and sustainable risk management approach. We work across the Society and more specifically, we support our Homes Business. We encourage individuals to make decisions and challenge the status quo – to support people have a home.

What Will You Be Doing?

The key purpose of this role is to conduct credit risk analytics and support business critical processes to understand and manage our credit risk. You will have a good knowledge of relevant regulation, credit risk models and key business processes in financial services.

You will support analysis of the portfolio and provide effective oversight of strategic business decisions. The responsibilities may include aspects such as reviewing the Credit Risk Appetite, developing new strategies (lending or credit management), enhancing monitoring and MI, benchmarking, reviewing new data sources and supporting the on-going management of our credit risk models. You will have the experience and confidence to produce independent analytics, committee reports and support larger projects.

You will have the opportunity to present at committee and regularly engage with our Homes business and enabling functions.

You will work on a variety of topics, working closely with others in Credit Risk Oversight and wider Group Risk, sharing knowledge and expertise, evolving our team’s capability and culture.

What Do We Need From You?

Skills

  • Hig
    hly numerate and extensive experience in using coding packages (e.g. SQL, SAS, Python, R), analytical and data visualisation tools (e.g. Excel, Power BI) and platforms such as Databricks, with the ability to guide and support others.
  • Experience in working with complex customer level data.
  • Drive your personal development, supported by the Society investment in training time and resources.

Knowledge

  • Sound understanding of the Financial Services sector; mortgages or unsecured lending.
  • Good understanding of regulatory models or a variety of business models (such as application scoring, IRB models, climate and forecasting etc).
  • Excellent awareness of the external environment, with a good understanding of credit risks.
  • Excellent analytical skills, conducting analytics or challenging process/decisions.

Experience

  • Typical experience in an analytical or risk environment of at least 3 years.
  • Experience in engaging with stakeholders and presenting complex concepts in a way that is tailored to the audience.
  • Experience working in an analytical role, delivering a range of technical work.
  • Working closely with a variety of models for business decisions.
