To help achieve this we have decided to adopt a cloud first approach for new systems, and to use containerised and micro-service deployments. In the role of DevOps Engineer you will seek to maximise the efficiency and effectiveness of our development teams by automating processes and pursuing end-to-end CI/CD for all applications. In addition, you will help development teams to produce systems that are suitable for deployment and scaling usingcloud container orchestration platforms. 
 
HERE’S YOUR ROLE BROKEN DOWN (NOT ALL OF IT, JUST THE MOST IMPORTANT STUFF) 
  • Help define and communicate Stats Perform’s DevOps strategy and best practises for build, release and monitoring
  • Provide consultancy and support for developing and deploying containerised, micro-service and serverless solutions
  • Be responsible for the management of shared collaboration tools, repositories and CI/CD systems 
  • Support teams in creating and maintaining their CI/CD pipelines, including a wide range of automated tests 
  • Maintain Stats Perform’s Configuration Management (CM) and IaC codebases 
  • Maintain Business Continuity by automating the recovery of all key systems 

DO YOU HAVE THESE ESSENTIALS

  • Experience configurating and managing AWS 
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC), notably Terraform 
  • Experience with Linux and Windows Administration 
  • Building & testing for C#, VB.NET, Java, Python, and Node.JS 
  • Scripting experience in PowerShell and Python 
  • Containers and Orchestration using ECS, EKS, Docker and Kubernetes. 
  • Experience with CI/CD systems and pipelines, notably Jenkins and Team City 
  • Experience with incident management and root cause analysis 
 
IT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU HAD THESE DESIRABLES TOO 
  • Coding experience with .NET, Java, and JavaScript. 
  • Experience with Configuration Management (CM), notably Ansible 
  • Component and container repository management, notably Sonatype Nexus 
  • Administration of DVCS notably Git and GitHub 
  • Code Quality metrics systems, notably SonarQube 
  • Experience of administrating Atlassian Jira and Confluence 
  • Test Management systems, such as Jira Xray – Experience with implementing DevSecOps best practices
