About the role

As a Demand Planner, you will be responsible for developing sales forecasts for key brands to arrive at a consensus with the commercial business and the supply organization.  You will play a key role in the process development and systems architecture that will support the management of customer level trade promotions, by incorporating information that is available in the IBP demand planning system. Forecasts will be established by analyzing and evaluating the combination of consumer and customer trade promotions, run rates, trends, seasonality, & other significant data points using demand planning software and judgmental inputs to achieve alignment. In addition to this, the Demand Planner will be responsible for delivering results for KPI’s of Forecast Accuracy by driving appropriate actions within the supply chain.  The Demand Planner is a key contributor within the Planning Team and will lead value-added activities to maintain seamless business process and stakeholder collaboration.  You will be accountable for managing the demand for key channels that generate a significant portion of the Nutrition gross sales. 

Your responsibilities

  • Direct responsibility for the management and consolidation of forecast for assigned customers and business units
  • Strive to provide the most accurate and reliable demand, avoiding bias, built upon a statistical forecast; to be deployed to the supply areas that will enable the correct balancing of demand and supply and production capabilities
  • Ensure that the aligned-on forecast is duly reflected across all systems (SAP APO, Kinaxis, IBP demand tool)
  • Coordination of monthly demand planning meetings with Sales, Marketing, Customer Marketing, and Manufacturing
  • Evaluation of consumer and trade promotion activities to establish meaningful projections of future promotions
  • Contribution to the implementation of processes and systems tools to develop a customer demand driven demand-planning process
  • Scope, initiate and roll-out improvements of processes and systems tools to drive efficiency and effectiveness
  • Other duties as assigned

The experience we're looking for

  • BA/BS in Logistics, Operations, Business Degree, Supply Chain Management, or quantitative analysis is preferred
  • Three (3) years experience in a demand planning or similar supply chain role
  • Advanced experience in Excel using functions is required
  • Previous experience using demand-planning software is preferred
  • Previous experience with relational databases is a plus
  • Must have strong initiative, are proactive, and work independently within a team environment
  • Be able to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced environment to deliver on time and in full
  • Demonstrated skill in leading the decision-making process for cross-functional teams
  • Skilled in engaging diverse stakeholders and securing buy-in for newly developed processes by leveraging leadership and motivational strengths
  • An aptitude for building strong, productive relationships
  • Strong numberical and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge or interest in analytics and data-driven decision making

US salary ranges

USD 65,000 – 97,000

The base salary range for this role will vary based on experience in job and industry, training and education, skills relevant to the position, and other factors permitted by law.
