About the role

The role is to lead both innovation and maintenance of the global aerosol product portfolio within Essential Home. Core responsibilities include feasibility scoping and testing of new technologies, alongside training, specialist testing and technical support of aerosol projects within global R&D category and Operations teams. Reporting to the R&D structure but offering full cross functional support for the Essential Home business.

This role acts as the key technical aerosol expert providing support internally for our global teams as well as acting as a key point of contact for our external partners.

 

Your responsibilities

  • Lead aerosol product and packaging development, from early-stage concept through feasibility, testing, and launch, in collaboration with brand and technical teams. 
  • Provide technical support to global R&D, supply chain, procurement, and marketing functions on aerosol-related projects.
  • Evaluate and manage suppliers, working with procurement to assess innovation capabilities and technical support, especially for sustainable and cost-effective solutions.
  • Oversee aerosol testing and pilot operations, ensuring internal standards, procedures, and facilities are maintained and improved.
  • Act as the subject matter expert (SME) for aerosol technologies, supporting investigations, risk assessments, and cross-functional training.
  • Represent the company in trade associations, staying informed on global aerosol legislation and contributing to industry standards.
  • Line manage direct reports, supporting their development and contributing to capability building across teams. 

The experience we're looking for

  • Strong technical expertise in aerosol packaging, formulations, propellants, and testing methods.
  • Experience leading cross-functional projects, from concept to implementation, including supplier engagement and factory scale-up.
  • Knowledge of global regulations and industry standards related to aerosols, with experience in SOP development and EHS compliance.
  • Ability to influence and collaborate across departments and regions, with a proactive approach to innovation and problem-solving.
  • Leadership experience, including mentoring or managing team members and contributing to a culture of continuous improvement.
