Analyst, Global Royalty Income Tracking & Analytics – Franklin, 37067, United States of America

How we LEAD:

The Global Tracking and Analytics department ensures revenue collection and maximization for all UMPG deals worldwide. The team sits at the epicenter of the company’s key priority for our writers and contract partners – capitalizing on the value of our song catalog. This position uses data and technology to track, analyze, and report on the performance and earnings of musical compositions globally. This position reports to the Senior Manager, Global Tracking and Analytics.

How you’ll CREATE:

  • Track consumption and review earnings for top works for audio/video streaming, physical, radio, live concert, television, cinema, and other revenue streams.
  • Review and analyze song registrations, usage, and royalty collections to ensure proper setup and pursue back-claims with local offices and societies as needed.
  • Communicate priority works, agreements, and productions to local offices to ensure proper implementation, registration, collections, and back-claims.
  • Communicate and maintain strong relationships with colleagues in Copyright, Royalties, Analytics, IT, and other teams to improve metadata and processes to ensure proper set-up, registrations, processing, and payments.
  • Collect, clean, and organize data from various sources such as streaming platforms, performance rights organizations, and other databases for proper integration and comparison.
  • Review and analyze financial reporting and royalty statements to ensure new deal implementation and correct royalty processing.
  • Assist with statement analysis and research for new client onboarding.
  • Assist with catalogue research for new releases, new platforms, and important exploitations.
  • Generate reports and dashboards to provide insights into the performance of musical compositions and the revenue generated from them.
  • Use Financial and Business Intelligence programs to generate reports and provide relevant data.
  • Assist with ISRC matching, maintenance, and data clean-up.
  • Assist with testing new and developing systems and tools.
  • Query, learn, and document territorial policy nuances in royalty collections and processes to better support local offices and improve efficacy.

Bring your VIBE:

  • An understanding of the music industry, music publishing and rights management.
  • Experience working with data and analytics, including proficiency in Excel, Domo, QuickSight and other data visualization tools preferred, ability to learn new programs quickly required.
  • Comfortable working with large volumes of data.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to turn data into actionable insights.
  • An inquisitive mind, with a passion for investigation and research.
  • The ability to work independently and prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with other departments and stakeholders.
  • Highly organized and detail oriented.
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience.
  • Four-year college degree.
