As the Senior Manager, State Government Affairs, NA, you’ll be responsible for Reckitt’s engagement with key corporate stakeholders, policymakers, advocacy, NA state-level government and local representation.

Your responsibilities
- Lead and maintain strategic relationships with state and local government departments, local elected officials and relevant public bodies.
- Regularly engage with policymakers to build trust, mitigate risks, and advocate for Reckitt’s priorities in the NA market.
- Act as a strategic adviser to the leadership team of Reckitt in North America
- Shape and execute Reckitt’s public policy and advocacy strategy at the U.S. state level and across NA, ensuring close alignment with the company’s commercial goals and social responsibility objectives.
- Help advance the public policy and advocacy strategy for the company, working collaboratively with colleague to ensure alignment between business objectives, policy, advocacy and stakeholder outreach goals.
- Collaborate closely with government affairs colleagues in other locations for policy, media and operations.
- Represent Reckitt in relevant stakeholder forums, advocating for positions that support business sustainability and societal impact.
- Work with internal key stakeholders in such as R&D, supply, regulatory and legal.
- Build intelligence and understanding of business-critical issues by tracking, monitoring and advising on important changes in regulatory or legislative matters affecting the NA political market.
- Ability to track, analyze data and respond to external headwinds across the changing NA political environment and create cohesive business strategies and/or scenario plans to meet evolving needs. Â
- Track and interpret relevant cross-state legislation, government activity and regulatory changes, briefing senior leadership accordingly.
- Ability to synthesize information into strategic plans within Government/Corporate Affairs and across internal functions.
The experience we're looking for
- Political acumen: Deep understanding of NA political systems and legislative processes with focus on state-level.
- NA Specific experience: Comprehensive understanding of national and state-level  political and regulatory environments across NA. Experience may include, but not limited to state Governor’s offices, state legislatures, committees, local advocacy and influential business groups. Â
- Strategic thinking: Ability to develop and implement effective state-level government relations strategies.Â
- Communication skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to translate complex policy and regulatory developments into strategic business advice.Â
- Networking:  Building strong relationships with local government officials, policy makers and other stakeholders/industry, advocacy and business leaders, including influential business groups in NJ and around our Reckitt sites. A strong network within states, their administrations, and relevant NA regulatory agencies.
- Compliance knowledge:Â Familiarity with NA and state-level lobbying laws and regulations.
- Experience: 8-10 years of experience in governmental relations, external affairs. Preferred CPG, but not necessary.
