Role responsibilities
We are currently recruiting for a Duty Control Manager to join the team within Wales Rail Operation Centre in a role where you will be responsible for the real time management of Transport for Wales (TfW) Service across the entire network.
The successful candidate will ensure that the control office takes decisive co-ordinated intervention harmonised with both internal and external parties to minimise overall delay and maximise service levels to our customers.
You will oversee the provision of traincrew and rolling stock resources in accordance with the requirements of the timetable and determine and coordinate the level of response to any given incident including deployment of additional staff and activation of on call structure including activation of the appropriate On Call Manager response.
Who we’re looking for
- Good working knowledge of all Railway operating practices and procedures, with an understanding of commercial / business picture within TfW and Network Rail,
- Excellent geographical knowledge of the TfW and adjacent networks,
- An ability to manage difficult situations, giving clear and concise instruction while being persistent and tenacious,
- Knowledge and experience of ATTUne4C, TRACS Enterprise, Trust, Tyrell and other control centre systems
Welsh Language Skills
The ability to speak/write Welsh would make a great addition to your application, but it is not essential for this role.
