What will I be doing as an Apprentice Site Manager?

Our Early Careers Development Programme can vary, depending on what step you join us at.

We support you from the beginning of your journey as an apprentice and you will likely be starting out on a level 4 apprenticeship. If you have already commenced surveying studies and have achieved HNC/HND level; we can support your application to get you started on your level 6 apprenticeship.

Not only will we be supporting you to obtain a professional qualification in the long term, but you will gain first class on-the-job experience in your role supported by line management and the wider network of skilled colleagues in the business. The Early Careers Development Programme allows you to start your career and get paid as you learn.

A day as an Apprentice Site Manager can look like:

  • Working on one of our construction sites and help preparation for the day.
  • Learning about project costs to support future bids.
  • Being the first point of contact for general site enquires for operational support teams and our supply chain.
  • Building relationships with our supply chain to ensure safety, health, environmental, and social value goals are achieved.

What we can give you!

Depending on your starting point, your salary will vary in line with the knowledge you bring and can be up to £24,570. We review remuneration regularly to ensure we remain competitive.

You may also benefit from a Company Car or Car Allowance reflecting Morgan Sindall Benefit Grade subject to the level you join us at. If you don’t qualify for this benefit, we will give you an annual travel allowance of £1,500.00 a year to help you with travel costs as well as Individual Private Health Care Cover with Life Assurance up to 4 times your basic salary.

To add to our amazing package, upon completion of a recognised academic or professional qualification/membership, you may be entitled to a monetary award from £500 – £1000, dependant on the qualification achieved.

This includes full membership to a technical institution or completion of a degree or apprenticeship in your relevant discipline.

What are we looking for?

  • Enthusiasm for your chosen career path
  • You will need to have 5 GCSEs A*-C (9-4) or equivalent qualifications which should include English and Maths. Along with A-levels or equivalent at level 3 with roughly 64 UCAS points but may vary depending on apprenticeship and FE/HE provider.
  • Ability to travel or drive to remote site locations
  • Ideally some exposure to a construction/engineering environment

Like all apprenticeships you will do day or block release at a further education / higher education establishment which will be broken into 20% off the job training and 80% on the job. There is a structured development programme we provide internally that covers a range of personal development and technical themes that supports what you learn on the job and at your further education / higher education provider. All our training workshops are heavily practical and grounded in real life scenarios. We have a large community of apprentices, graduates and undergraduates currently in the business and plenty of experienced colleagues who get involved in supporting the programme.
