Overview
Designated Care Experienced Adviser, 37 hrs per wk, 40 wks per year. Maternity Cover, 12 Months Fixed term With a focus on continually improving the retention and success of the College’s Care Experienced (Looked After Children (LAC) and Care Leaver) cohort, this role will provide the necessary support internally and externally. The successful candidate will be a part of the Safeguarding Team and will support the day to day running of the service across all campuses. This role will provide expert advice and guidance to Care Experienced young people in relation to their transition to Post-16 as well as maintaining relevant tracking and monitoring processes. The role will call for a partnership approach to ensure that all avenues of support are explored to facilitate a positive learning experience and destination outcome. The successful candidate will require an innovative and proactive approach as well as strong administrative and organisation skills including the following; Experience of working in Social Care or Multi-agency teams, Experience of multi-agency working, level 3 Safeguarding trained, Experience of direct safeguarding and pastoral/wellbeing care, Excellent IT skills, Excellent communication skills both written and verbal. Term Time: Anyone starting midway through the academic year will have their monthly salary slightly reduced, as staff need to have worked a certain length of time through the academic year to be able to receive continued payment through the summer, when you won’t be expected to work. The actual figure would be calculated once a start date is confirmed. At the beginning of the next academic year the monthly salary will revert to 1/12th of the whole pro rata salary quoted.
