Trade Waste Driver- days – Nottingham
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate LGV vehicles for waste collection and transportation.
- Complete daily vehicle inspections and report any defects or issues.
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, Duty of Care, and transport regulations.
- Inspect waste, complete transfer notes, and secure loads for safe transit.
- Deliver outstanding customer service to all clients.
- Report hazards, accidents, or safety concerns promptly.
- Maintain cleanliness of vehicle cabs and follow company procedures for road permits, lighting, and cone placement when required.
- Participate in driver debriefs, highlighting any route, safety, or customer improvements.
- Work flexibly to meet business needs, including occasional overtime.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Valid HGV (LGV) licence and CPC qualification.
- Strong focus on Health & Safety and compliance.
- Ability to work early starts and in all weather conditions.
- Physically fit to carry out bin emptying and other manual duties.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and adaptable.
- Good communication skills and a customer service mindset.
- Previous experience driving waste collection vehicles.
- Basic mechanical knowledge or vehicle maintenance experience.
