As an EMEA Logistics Trade Legal Manager you will be responsible for:
STCC – Strategical Trade Compliance & Customs
- Lead process improvement within EMEA Organization and make sure that our STC performance or way of performing is in line with Canon Europa N.V. Business ops (Inbound/Outbound/Warehouse Operation/Inventory Management/Project Management) Annual goal + Canon Inc (Canon Group HQ in Japan) Expectations.
- Together with Team member, Across NSO (National Sales Organization) & RSO(Regional Sales Organization), organize well communication to be able to perform well STC control with continuous improvement. Make sure the direction and vision are clear to the NSO & RSO.
Custom law control /Duty cost control
- HS Classification – Correct Item classification drives directly Canon’s Group profit, which means that applies the correct duty rates and make sure the influences on cost of sales in saving the cost, Incorrect item classification could have legal consequence.
- Duty Cost Control – The target and goal are to ensure the well control of Duty payment from a variety of perspectives and knowledge i.e. EPA item, Item Set up, getting the alignment with internal BI team, MDM team and external 3PL.
- Pursuit Saving the Cost – Lead the opportunity to study on utilize more items under JP-EU EPA to save the duty. Aligning with Specialist, the objective is to execute the initiatives to save more import duties or find and install to minimize the waste of payment not only for duties but also any fines to keep the position of AEO.
Item Set up HS Classification of Canon Products
- Monitoring if Co-Ordinator and Specialist classify appropriate HS code and give them proper advice timely and quickly by using more experiences and insights.
- Aligning with Specialist, NSO/RSO and Canon Inc Logistics Trade legal department, maintain good record keeping how and why we classify the HS code. This would be also preparation for potential audits.
Company Project & Department Initiatives Involvement
- During involvement and contribution on company projects & Department Initiatives: key is to have good alignment with the respective team for trade legal requirement and in correspondence with project plans and project schedules and avoid possible delays.
- Proactively collect the information what kind of company project will be related to our department task and react properly and timely to guide the project works well as STC and Customs professionals.
- Having long term provision and acting as subject matter expert to give clear guideline to team a guide the project considering how the operation will be sustainable after project was installed.
Process Installation & Stabilization
- Design the process to minimize the workload by using automation, new tool or etc.
- Develop Information Shelf to be able to keep and upgrade our knowledge continuously.
- Organize Continuous way of Supporting the operations as the customs and STC professionals.
- Keeping helicopter view & study New Regulation and introduce how to install it into internal department to work well.
Lead the Team & Develop the members
- Lead and organize better team to be able to develop heading for right way.
- Install process to work this mechanism continuously. Between Logistics Legal manager, Specialist and Co-Ordinator, make a good bridge and perform proper role to communicate well each other and develop our nice team.
What we ask
For this role, you will have:
- A University/bachelor level education
- A minimum of 6-10 years of experience in a relevant field
- Fluency in Dutch and English (written & spoken)
- Experience with ERP systems (Oracle, Orion)
- High level of Excel knowledge
- Experience in process design and modeling
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently
- Training skills (sharing & experience)
- A proactive and entrepreneurial mindset
