GL accountant/ Certified Management Accountant – Rotterdam
Location: Rotterdam – Hybrid
Salary: Salary from €45,000, plus a benefits package designed to support your wellbeing and reward your impact
Contract: 1-year contract, followed by a permanent position
AB Vista, a UK-headquartered animal nutrition technology company and global leader in feed enzymes, serves the poultry, swine, ruminant, and aquaculture sectors with innovative products and technical services. As an Accountant at AB Vista, based in our Rotterdam office, you will play a key role in the finance team, managing accurate financial records and supporting month-end closing activities. You will join an international, collaborative team in the heart of Rotterdam, where we offer flexible working schedules and a high work-life balance in a culture that values accuracy, efficiency, and continuous improvement in financial processes.
Some key responsibilities will include:
- Manage the full cycle of financial accounting tasks, including month-end closing, journal entries, accruals, and prepayments to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Prepare and finalize management accounts and reports for internal and group review, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations and VAT reporting, maintaining accuracy and adherence to regulatory requirements.
- Handle supplier and customer setups, credit control, and expense management, including processing and monitoring company recharges and credit card transactions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support ongoing financial operations, maintain ERP system data integrity (Dynamics 365), and contribute to process improvements within the finance function.
Skills and Experience:
- A fully qualified accountant with a degree or diploma at HBO level or higher
- Proven experience as a financial accountant or general ledger accountant, ideally with at least five years in a corporate finance environment.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, month-end closing processes, journal entries, accruals, prepayments, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Experience working with ERP systems, preferably Microsoft Dynamics 365, with the ability to navigate and utilize financial modules effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, with the confidence to collaborate across teams and present clear financial information.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, including the use of formulas such as VLOOKUP, to analyse and manage financial data efficiently.
