Quality Inspector – Electrical – Plymouth
Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Defects and rectification (ensuring NCR are raised and tracked)
  • Compliance with and impact of Employer works information, specification and instructions.
  • Provide input to the project quality reports.
  • Report completion.
  • Supporting in off-site inspections.
  • Witness, material inspections, material testing & test results within specific qualifications and experience.
  • Carry out Quality Control inspections on site during the track construction process and manage the quality control checks carried out by the construction teams.
  • Witness Quality Control checklist completion for all track construction activities.
  • Ensure that all site Quality Control is undertaken at all stages of track construction in accordance with the track Inspection and Test Plan.
  • Monitor the Inspection and Test Plan for witness, validation & acceptance activities.
  • Support the Quality Control Manager on all quality matters including delivery of quality
  • Support the inspections carried out by the Independent Third Party Inspection Authority
  • Assist in preparing and developing of the Inspection and Test Plans and quality related documentation.
  • Provide operational and functional support with advice to ensure that the works and all management systems are completed “At Each Stage, Right First Time Every Time”.
  • Participate as requested in Quality audits of projects, suppliers and contractors.
  • Monitor and report on the implementation of the company’s policies and procedures.
  • Assist in the collection/compilation of the projects’ objectives, targets and KPI data.
  • Assist in the preparation and implementation of Quality training courses.
  • Ensure at construction stage that all required certifications are available and copies obtained.
  • Liaise with client Quality Control counterparts.
  • Raise quality related Non-Conformance Reports for track construction works.
  • Ensure that all track Quality Control records are created, maintained and archived.
  • Support in the compilation and review of Lifetime Quality Records.
  • Ensure there is a traceability of materials through the construction process.
  • Ongoing Work performance information.
  • Witness FATs, SATs, permanent and temporary works based on risk, Operational Experience and Quality Indicators
  • Oversight of change requests and concessions. (sign off / completion prior to construction).
  • Support in measuring the work has been delivered correctly on or off site.

Qualifications

Essential

  • 5 Years previous experience in quality and inspections in projects of a similar size and complexity.
  • Previous experience in Electrical
  • Ability to obtain SC Clearance.

Desirable

  • Nuclear/MOD Experience.
  • Microsoft Office literate.
  • Full Driving License.

Essential

  • HND/HNC in Electrical Engineering or suitable experience in similar field.

Desirable

  • ISO 9001 Auditor.
  • Formal Training in an appropriate discipline.
  • CSCS Card.
  • IOSH.
