We are proud to say that more women than ever before work for the Scottish Prison Service.
Greater numbers of women are applying for, and achieving leadership roles. In fact, over the last year 50% of all promotions were achieved by women.
For the first time in SPS history, the Chief Executive and Deputy Chief Executive roles are both held by women. There are also six female Governors in Charge, leading eight of our 15 prisons.
Women have achieved great things in SPS and with greater representation at all levels, we hope our staff feel inspired and empowered to be the best they can be, and to pursue whatever path they desire.”
