Warwickshire Police

Warwickshire Police
We’re responsible for policing the county of Warwickshire in the UK and we’ve been doing this for more than 160 years. Our enduring vision is to protect people from harm and we are committed to continuous improvement to empower our people, maximise our use of technology and place, and be fit for the future to continue to prevent crime and support communities across Warwickshire.

Our People
We are a small force, with a strong family feel and our workforce promise is to put your health and wellbeing first. Whether you’re interested in a public-facing policing role or playing your part behind the scenes to keep our communities safe, we have a range of career options in policing, professional, technical and administrative roles with Warwickshire Police.

Promoting equality of opportunity and celebrating diversity are fundamental enablers for our vision, and intrinsic to our organisational culture and leadership. They help shape the way in which we design and deliver our services.

As part of our strategic objectives, we have seven equality objectives:

Representative Workforce
1) The workforce represents the Warwickshire population, with an increase in representation of ethnic minorities and women.
2) Achieve a positive shift in our workplace culture where people, no matter their background and circumstances, feel confident to share their protected characteristics.

Inclusive Culture
3) Develop and implement a programme of activity which establishes an open and inclusive culture which is supportive of difference.

Use of Police Powers
4) Communities are confident that Warwickshire Police use its powers fairly and will continuously seek out opportunities to understand disparity, and then reduce that disparity where it is appropriate to do so and does not compromise public safety.

Engagement
5) Formal and informal community engagement is representative of Warwickshire communities.

Hate Crime
6) Satisfaction with the service provided to victims of hate crime will consistently be 80% or higher.

Capabilities
7) Close the gap in data collection as a priority (where appropriate), and then further develop insight to understand inequalities across protected characteristics and relevant policing strands.

Our strategic vision is to Prevent and Protect, to Respond and Reassure and to be Effective and Efficient. In support of these aims we are committed to:
Working proactively to reduce crime and the harm experienced by our communities, particularly the most vulnerable.

We will focus on:
