Opportunity: Packaging Developer (6 month FTC)
Location: Selby (2 days a week) / Kiveton (1 day a week) with hybrid working flexibility

What You’ll Be Doing:
As a Packaging Developer, you’ll be instrumental in bringing new and improved packaging concepts to life. Your key responsibilities will include:
  • Innovating and Creating – Collaborate with packaging suppliers to develop fresh, eye-catching designs that enhance the customer experience and give us a competitive edge.
  • Project Management – Lead packaging projects from concept to commercialisation, liaising with senior internal and external stakeholders to ensure seamless execution.
  • Bringing Ideas to Reality – Develop practical and commercial packaging solutions that are both visually appealing and functionally effective.
  • Driving Efficiency – Work closely with the Group Purchasing team to identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising on quality.
  • Ensuring Feasibility – Test packaging designs in real-world production environments to ensure they meet manufacturing and production requirements.
  • Championing Sustainability – Stay ahead of industry trends and sustainability goals, integrating eco-friendly solutions into every design.
  • Showcasing Your Work – Attend customer product submissions, presenting your innovative proposals with compelling graphical mock-ups.
  • Supporting Factory Trials – Collaborate with production teams to refine and optimise packaging designs for peak performance.
What We’re Looking For:
We need a highly skilled and experienced packaging professional who can hit the ground running. The ideal candidate will have:
  • At least five years of experience in the food packaging industry.
  • Strong material knowledge, particularly in Glass, metal jar closures/foils, plastics (e.g lidding film and plastic tubs)
  • Highly skilled in PowerPoint presentations and public speaking.
  • Experience in the food manufacturing industry (not perfumes or non-food industries).
  • Up-to-date knowledge of EPR & RAM legislation.
Nice to Have:
  • Additional material knowledge in: Corrugates (e.g. shelf-ready packaging – SRP’s), Labels, Carton board sleeves
