Manager, Investor Relations – New York, 10019, United States of America

How we LEAD:

Support the Investor Relations team with the execution of the global investor relations program for Universal Music Group, the world leader in music-based entertainment.  Reports to the Executive Vice President, Head of Investor Relations.   

How you’ll CREATE:

  • Gather the relevant daily research on UMG, peers and competitors for senior management
  • Review and analyze sell-side research and models for accuracy
  • Oversee an internal consensus model to provide a consolidated view of external expectations
  • Evaluate market data and competitor financial results to help senior management team better assess UMG’s performance relative to peers, and buy-side expectations
  • Build and maintain a detailed internal financial model for analyzing business trends
  • Help prepare all financial documents, including annual reports, quarterly earnings press releases, earnings call scripts, Q&A, and presentations to communicate financial performance and strategy
  • Coordinate quarterly analyst call-back meetings
  • Manage IR email inbox
  • Work with the finance team to review quarterly financial results and long-term trends
  • Act as an ESG point person within IR working closely with the Global Impact Team on all ESG matters, including gathering answers to ESG ratings agency questionnaires and inquiries
  • Compile data and IR presentations for Board meetings and internal leadership events
  • Develop relationships and help manage contracts with IR service providers, including coordination of Shareholder IDs
  • Manage the investor relations website (alongside IT) ensuring that all disclosures, presentations, and company information is accurate and current

Primary Internal and External Relationships:

  • Internal contacts: Communications, Global Impact Team, Global Technology Team, Financial Reporting, Financial Planning & Analysis, Treasury, Accounting, Tax, and Legal
  • Third party organizations: Nasdaq, Visible Alpha, Bloomberg; Increased exposure to sell-side analysts and buy-side investors over time

Bring your VIBE:

  • 2+ years in investment banking, consulting, financial reporting, FP&A, or accounting, with some understanding of the music industry preferred
  • Outstanding financial analysis skills, oral and written communication skills, and attention to detail
  • A clear and thorough understanding of the financial modeling techniques used by security analysts to project a company’s operating and financial performance
  • Advanced PowerPoint and Excel knowledge and skills. Proficiency with market data providers
  • A proactive, energetic, efficient, resourceful team player and individual contributor
  • Bachelor’s Degree required; finance or accounting background preferred
