Job Title: Formulator (Monogastric) 

Location: Peterborough, Cambridgeshire, UK

Contract type and shift: Permanent, Monday to Friday – (Hybrid working available)

About the Role
As a formulator at AB Agri (part of our ABN division), you’ll be at the heart of our feed formulation process, working within a skilled, cross-functional team to create nutritionally optimised and cost-effective animal feed solutions.

You’ll collaborate closely with procurement, supply chain, technical, and QA teams, using data-driven insights and the format system to deliver real business value.

 

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Become an expert user of FORMAT diet formulation software.
  • Create least-cost formulations while balancing nutritional quality and operational constraints.
  • Explore existing practices and propose smarter, more sustainable solutions.
  • Stay alert to raw material trends and market movements.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure consistency and strategic alignment.
  • Contribute to strategy meetings, QA reviews, and pricing/specification planning.
  • Build effective internal networks to support your career development.

 

Who We’re Looking For:

  • A recent graduate in a science-related or animal nutrition field
  • Someone inquisitive, commercially aware, and keen to problem-solve.
  • Effective communicator who can see the bigger picture and work across departments.
  • Numerate and analytical with excellent attention to detail
  • Committed to advancing sustainability, innovation, and the agri-food sector.
  • A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel when needed.
