This pivotal role within the transformation team involves defining best practices across both agile and waterfall deliverables. As a coach and mentor, the individual will be instrumental in nurturing and developing the team’s skills, empowering them to advance their careers.
By fostering a positive and collaborative culture within the centre of excellence, they will encourage team members to share ideas and best practices from their delivery teams. Additionally, they will collaborate with delivery leads across agile and waterfall teams to ensure resources are provided at the right time, while effectively managing associated risks.
Here’s a taste of what you will be doing as an Engineering Practice Manager at Nottingham Building Society: –
- Lead the Centre of Excellence: Manage a team of specialists to deliver high-quality outcomes.
- Coach and Mentor: Provide guidance and identify development pathways for direct reports.
- Embed Community of Excellence: Foster a collaborative culture within the engineering team.
- Resource Management: Ensure the team adheres to policies and has the capacity to deliver the strategy.
- Collaborative Leadership: Work with CTTO areas and stakeholders to deliver strategic goals.
- Recruitment: Lead the hiring of engineers for delivery pods and projects.
- Performance Standards: Ensure the team meets performance standards.
- Agile and SCRUM Promotion: Advocate for Agile and SCRUM methodologies throughout NBS.
About you: –
- Leadership and Team Management: Demonstrates strong leadership and effective team management skills.
- Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excels in communication and building interpersonal relationships.
- Project Management Expertise: Possesses in-depth knowledge of project management methodologies and tools.
- Strategic Thinking: Capable of long-term strategic planning for the change function.
- Adaptability and Innovation: Embraces change, anticipates industry trends, and fosters innovation.
- Qualifications: Holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
