Overview
** This is a One Year Contract **
We are creating our next generation technology platform and applications through re-usable cloud services. This is being built upon AWS technologies within a micro-services based architecture and an API first approach.
You will be working with cross-functional teams to deliver increased value across our Cloud products. A key aspect of the role will be coaching the engineers to optimize delivery, develop their skills and foster a generative culture.
This is a hands off position in terms of coding, but having a strong base in software engineering and agile delivery is a must. You will be line manager for a collection of software engineers and quality engineers across a couple of delivery teams, responsibilities will include setting objectives, performance appraisals and developing the careers of the team members. You will also get involved with and lead cross department initiatives to share knowledge and foster best practices.
Responsibilities :
- Coach individuals with their professional development to nurture a growth mindset and culture of psychological safety
- Promoting and coaching good devops practices in order to help the team deploy frequently, reduce lead time and resolve incidents quickly
- Conduct ongoing one-to-ones, objective sessions, and formal performance review meetings and documented improvement plans to track and develop individual’s progress
- Foster good communities of practices across engineering
- General line management responsibility for individuals in their care including salary reviews and discussions
- Recruitment of engineering roles into the product teams
- Driving and being involved with a number of cross departmental initiatives

Experience :
- Excellent people management skills, with an ability to get the best out of those you manage
- Excellent understanding of product development

- Previous experience in any leadership or coaching role
