Overview
- Develop and implement a group-wide electrical compliance and improvement strategy, leading risk assessments, audits, and gap analyses to ensure full compliance and safety, and act as the key liaison with regulatory bodies
- Provide technical leadership to Engineering Controllers and site electrical teams, ensuring consistency in maintenance, fault[1]finding, and process improvements, and implement standardised electrical maintenance procedures
- Monitor electrical reliability, downtime trends, and failure rates across all sites, ensuring continuous improvement initiatives reduce production interruptions, and identify and implement energy efficiency projects, including power optimisation, automation, and sustainable energy solutions
- Lead electrical upgrades and automation improvements to drive efficiency in food production lines
- Provide regular reports to the Executive Team, highlighting electrical system performance, compliance risks, and investment opportunities, aligning electrical strategy with overall business goals
- Act as the subject matter expert for electrical risk management, advising on preventative measures and future-proofing initiatives
- Lead group-wide electrical projects, including control system upgrades, safety enhancements, and digitalisation efforts, collaborating with Group Engineering, Operations, and IT to drive smart manufacturing initiatives and predictive maintenance technologies
- Covering UK electrical compliance arrangements across all manufacturing sites and all logistics depots (16 manufacturing sites and 17 logistics depot) – must have ability to travel to all our sites
- Degree or Higher National Certification/Higher National Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or related field
- Ideally chartered or actively working towards chartered status
- 15+ years’ experience in electrical engineering, with experience in a senior leadership role
- High level expertise in PLC systems, automation, and energy management
- Good experience working within the electrical distribution or generation sector
- HV, transformer or switchgear experience
- Proven experience leading multi-site teams and influencing senior stakeholders
- Deep understanding of food industry compliance, electrical regulations, and safety standards, and an overview of the principles of H&S legislation, and its relevance to the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to present to executives and board members
- Experience of delivering improvement programmes at a business level
- Knowledge of/ability to use strength & capability modelling software (e.g. ProDesign)
