About the role

The purpose of this role is to oversee all engineering activities within the Europe area, ensure efficient delivery of the regional supply capital investment plan, the development of capital masterplans, compliance to preferred suppliers list and relevant engineering standards & processes, capital project review and remediation, governance, and ad-hoc support. This involves strategic leadership, risk management, fostering a safety-conscious culture, and close collaboration with factories for seamless execution of capital plans. The role is pivotal in aligning project success criteria with industrial execution, ensuring a commitment to deliver solutions that meet or exceed agreed requirements.

Your responsibilities

• Strategic Leadership:
o Define the vision and strategy for engineering capital projects across Reckitt\’s manufacturing sites.
o Collaborate with senior leadership to align capital masterplans with overall business objectives.
o Support strategic initiatives on Green, Brown filed projects and/or M&A activities in Europe.

• Capital Project Management:
o Establish and maintain effective capital project management systems in line with global standards from idea generation through execution to post investment review.
o Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to capital projects.
o Drive continuous improvement initiatives in CAPEX execution.
o Ensuring Vertical Start Up of new purchased assets.

• Governance & Reporting:
o Ensure capital project governance in compliance of financial requirements.
o Attend project/factory steercos. o Facilitate reporting for Capital Committee and regional requirements.

• Collaboration and Cross-Functional Engagement:
o Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, production, quality assurance, and R&D.
o Engage with external stakeholders, regulatory bodies, industry associations and vendors.

• Risk Assessment and Mitigation:
o Conduct thorough capital project reviews to minimise execution risks.
o Develop and implement risk reduction strategies.
o Ensure compliance with relevant engineering regulations and standards.
• Training and Education:
o Provide training and guidance to employees on engineering protocols.
o Foster a safety-conscious culture throughout the organization.

• Incident Investigation and Root Cause Analysis:
o Lead investigations into capital project deviations.
o Identify root causes and implement corrective actions to improve the process.
• Team Development
o Mentor and develop engineering managers and teams to build a talent bench.
o Foster a culture of continuous improvement & collaboration.

Typical connects are with SVP Supply Leads, Regional Supply Directors, Site Directors, Operational Managers, Global Quality, Global Health & Safety, Global Technology Engineering Team, Global Supply Excellence and FM Global. To align required functionalities, priorities, roll out plan, benefits, get support to remove barriers, resources allocation, and sync timelines with other initiatives in the Supply Chain and other functions.

The experience we\’re looking for

Essential:
• Bachelor\’s degree in an Engineering discipline or related field.
• Experience in engineering out of which a leadership role in Engineering within the CPG industry.
• Proven track record of successfully implementing engineering capital investment programs.
• Demonstrated experience in delivery of Vertical startup.
• Strong knowledge of relevant regulations and industry best practices.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.

Desirable:
• Experience in regional engineering leadership role in CPG.
• Proven experience working in a multinational environment and managing cross-cultural teams with experience working in different geographies
• Demonstrated delivery of major Green or Brown filed strategic investments.
• Master\’s degree in an Engineering discipline or related field.
• Willingness to travel as required.
