Come and join our expanding Sizewell C (SZC) team and work on one of the most exciting and largest megaprojects in the UK, whilst being at the forefront of the UK’s climate change agenda and energy policy.

Following on from the success of Hinkley Point C (HPC), the Sizewell C Project is a nuclear new build project in Suffolk, which has obtained planning approval and Government financing support. The project has started construction and is now seeking private investment. When completed, it will provide dependable electricity to 6 million homes for 60 years, which along with renewables, will support Britain to achieve Net Zero by 2050.

We’re looking for a technical Issues Resolution Lead (Risk, Opportunities and Resolutions Lead) to manage the resolution of technical issues and oversee the management of Sizewell C’s key engineering and technical risks, in line with the Technical Directorate’s risk management process.

In this role, you’ll drive collaboration and ensure seamless coordination across multiple areas of our business. While you won’t be directly reviewing designs or documents, you’ll play a vital role in managing and orchestrating risk resolution activities. Your focus will be on ensuring alignment, progress and effective resolution of technical challenges.

The Role

In this role, you will lead the resolution of emergent priority technical issues, ensuring timely and effective solutions while overseeing the management of key engineering and technical risks for Sizewell C.

Communication is key, and you’ll be the bridge between technical teams, senior leadership, and stakeholders to keep things running smoothly. Working as a Issues Resolution Lead you’ll know exactly who the important internal and external networks are to communicate between technical teams, senior leadership, and key stakeholders – essential to ensuring a structured approach to risk resolution.

As the Issues Resolution Lead, you will report to both the Head of Transverse Technical and the Technical ROR Manager, ensuring alignment with the overall technical strategy and a coordinated approach to managing technical risks. This is a highly collaborative role, requiring strong problem-solving skills, technical expertise, and the ability to navigate complex challenges in a fast-paced environment.

About You

You are highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritise effectively and coordinate across teams.

Your strong communication skills, both verbal and written, enable you to liaise confidently with various stakeholders.

You excel at problem-solving, quickly identifying issues and implementing solutions to keep things moving forward.

The Skills

  • Experience working in large infrastructure projects.
  • Background in engineering, or a degree in engineering (or a related discipline).
  • Project management experience in a relevant industry.
  • Understanding of Risk Management processes.
  • Excellent communication skills in client-facing and contractor facing situations.
  • Highly organised and ability to work independently.
  • Proficiency in IT skills.

Desirable

  • Previous experience in the nuclear industry.
  • An existing network within Hinkley Point C or Sizewell C will be hugely beneficial.

If you thrive in a high-stakes environment and are ready to help deliver some of the most complex projects as our Issues Resolution Lead in the nuclear energy sector, we’d love to hear from you!
