Nuclear Decommissioning Authority

About the NDA

The Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA) is sustainably, safely and securely decommissioning the UK’s nuclear facilities, managing radioactive waste and transporting specialist materials globally.

We also have a unique role supporting delivery of the Government’s sustainability ambitions, investing in social impact programmes to support the communities around our sites.

A non-departmental public body, sponsored and funded by the UK Government, our mission is one of the largest environmental programmes in the world.

We directly employ around 380 people, with more than 17,000 people part of the wider NDA group. To deliver this nationally important mission, the right people are needed with the right skills across the UK. We’re currently responsible for 17 nuclear sites and more than 30 site and office locations, with a mission that is growing as more sites join us for decommissioning and we’re trusted to do more.

We employ talented people to work in a range of disciplines. In return for the significant contribution you’ll make to our future, you’ll receive excellent benefits and rewards and a healthy work-life balance.

Join us and play a key role in tackling one of the most technical, complex challenges facing the UK today, helping us leave a safer environment for future generations.

At the NDA, we’re committed to creating a workplace that is diverse and inclusive. We value the diversity of our people and actively seek to have a workforce that represents the rich diversity of the communities we support. Currently, we’re underrepresented in some areas, and would particularly welcome applicants from women, black, asian and ethnic minorities, LGBTQ+ and candidates who have a disability.

The NDA is a member of the disability confident scheme, when asked we will make reasonable adjustments to the recruitment process where possible and we guarantee to interview all candidates who have a disability who meet all of the essential criteria for the vacancy.

We’re happy to discuss flexible working. We will also make workplace adjustments for disabled employees if these are needed to help them perform at their best in the role, and we’re happy to discuss this once a job offer has been made.
