Technical Services Manager – National Role
Up to £55,000 per annum (DOE) 
Benefits include: Private BUPA healthcare and CRISP pension.
Monday – Friday role, however requires flexibility to out of hours support

The Technical Services Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of hard services delivery and compliance across the Portfolio. This will include but not limited to: 
  • Asset management and life-cycle condition reports of assets across the Portfolio
  • Ensuring that the Portfolio has a high standard of complying to all aspects of statutory compliance
  • Management of outsourced maintenance contracts and managing the performance of the contract and the relationship
  • Managing the internal helpdesk and CAFM function
  • Day to day management of all UK wide hard service contractors

Overall Purpose of the Role:

  • Maintain a PPM schedule that meets contractual and legal obligations based on SFG20 Guidelines and Manufacturers recommendations
  • Support and advise Area Managers in the control of PPM activities.
  • Support and advise Area Managers in the management of remedial works
  • Quantify corrective actions
  • Validate Quotes
  • Review Method Statements
  • Provide support to FM through the duration of works
  • Manage and implement the Safe System of Works
  • Authorising Person for Electrical Works
  • Training and assessment of Competent Persons and Site Responsible Persons
  • Maintain Assess Net Risk assessment and Method Statement Data Bases for Account
  • Lead and motivate the engineering team to improve performance on customer service, communication, networking, common engineering standards, quality, safety and environmental issues to ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory / corporate requirements and that documented procedures exist and are understood by all employees.
  • Lead the engineering team to deliver a safe, compliant, cost effective and responsive service
  • Working with the engineering team to provide an efficient / cost effective management of all Suppliers which includes; lifts, building management controls and fire systems
  • Contribute to plans and strategies for the future development of facilities.
  • Establish and maintain excellent working relationships based on open and honest communication with suppliers to ensure confidence in our business and to present a credible and professional image.
  • Ensure all work is carried out on all sites to an acceptable level and to consistent engineering and H & S standards through regular monitoring of both in-house and contractor performance and competence.
  • Develop, manage and co-ordinate a process to continually review Service Suppliers.
About You:

Essential:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience within the Facilities Management business with experience of both Hard and Soft Services.
  • Recognised qualification in an appropriate engineering subject.
  • Appointed Authorising Engineer or Authorised Persons for M&E disciplines.
  • Demonstrates experience of co-coordinating and managing Technical Services and good awareness of fit-out and H & S issues.
  • Knowledge of energy utilisation
  • Computer Literate specifically with Microsoft Office
  • Strong Management experience and skills
  • NEBOSH Qualification

Desirable:

  • Formal Project management experience or qualification
  • Member of an appropriate technical institution (IET, CIBSE)
  • Knowledge of building services/utilities, procurement, business planning, and financial/budgetary controls
  • Experience of formulating, implementing and managing change management programmes
