Job Description

We are currently recruiting for a Tax Manager to join the wider Finance team. The Tax Manager will be our expert and advisory on all things' tax related. This will include running esure’s tax compliance, tax planning, accounting for corporation tax, VAT, Insurance Premium Tax (IPT) and preparation of tax returns.

This position is on a permanent, part time basis, working 2 – 3 days per week. We pride ourselves on flexibility, this means we are open to speaking to people about days and working hours that suit them best across a 2 or 3 day working week.

What you will do:

  • Be our trusted partner, technical expert and adviser on tax. You will provide our Finance team and the wider business with advice on taxes.
  • Creation and presentation of tax reporting for Corporation Tax, IPT and VAT.
  • Comprehensive review and communication of tax provisions.
  • Liaison with HMRC, other tax authorities and third party professionals including solicitors, other accountants and tax advisers.
  • Keep abreast of the tax landscape and ensure information on future tax changes are communicated to the business.
  • Be heavily involved in our Group Tax strategy, ensuring right processes, compliance and controls are in place.

Qualifications

We’d love you to have:

  • A technical Tax expert who can guide, advise and drive tax changes, compliance and controls throughout a business.
  • A qualified tax accountant with post qualification experience.
  • Solid understanding of corporation tax, PSA returns and VAT (IPT is a bonus).
  • The ability to understand the business rationale for changes, whilst thinking of tax impacts.
  • A great communicator who can collaborate with non-finance team to clearly explain tax implications.
  • Experience within the Insurance or Financial Services industry is highly advantageous.
  • A strong eye for detail when reviewing testing of policies, controls and approach.
