Salary Range: £12.44 per hour

We’re hiring for Bank Support Workers at our Children's and Young Person’s Short Breaks service in Clevedon  

We are seeking support workers for our short breaks service in Clevedon, where we support children and young people aged between 14 and 25 for overnight stays to develop independence skills as part of our pathways to adulthood service.

We’re looking for outgoing, active and dynamic individuals with a can-do attitude and a desire to help someone live a full life! 

As a children and young adult support worker, you’ll be flexible to support across the week including pick up and drop off at school/college, as well as weekends, support after school and in the school holidays. You will work on a 1-1 basis to develop and work towards individualised outcomes, these may be based around manging money, socialising, cooking, cleaning, everyone’s pathway will be different and you will be a key part in preparing them for adulthood.

Lots of fun and engaging activities are planned for the people we support such as swimming, bowling, sports lessons and the cinema to name a few.

The support you provide will be centred around each person’s values, preferences and needs. You will also need to support with personal care and medication needs.  We have full and part-time hours avalible you could work a range of diffirent 7am – 3pm, 3pm – 9.30 pm, 8am – 8pm, 7am – 10am, you will also be avalible to do occasional sleep ins.

Benefits:

Sleep-ins paid at £60 extra (basic salary £12.44 p/h)  

Full training to gain the nationally recognised Care Certificate.  

Time to complete training is paid 

We cover the cost of DBS checks  

Rota's are planned in advance.

You will:

If you have experience of working with children or young people, that’s even better. 

Full UK Driving License is essential

To develop daily living skills. 

Support the people we support to access their communities for social activities, employment, training or friendships 

To contribute to, develop and implement the individuals care plans. 

To communicate effectively and professionally with people we support, their family members, and external professionals.
