Job Overview

Do you have as passion and experience or are interested in supporting students with long term health conditions? Our students love to come to College and enjoy learning. Working directly with students in and around sessions you will provide the care and support they need and rely on to be able to access their learning. Timetabled activities alongside life in a busy student community; no two days are the same.

The students you will support with have long term health conditions, they may be reliant on your for personal care, which we provide with dignity and respect. As Special School Leavers we are committed to enabling our students to be heard, listened to and understood. And in return you will enjoy seeing the students you work with become adults and prepare for busy and fulfilling lives as graduates.

Graduation is a rite of passage, and it reminds of of how far each and every learner has progressed. And there isn’t a dry eye in the house as we recall the journey our amazing young people take.

Job Details

  •  As a student support worker, you will be supporting students in classroom environments, assisting in accessing the community, and participating in activities to help develop life skills together with assisting them with their personal care needs. 
  • You will contribute to creating a nurturing environment where students can lead fulfilling lives, free from fear, and in line with their needs and aspirations. You will be supporting their personal growth by assisting them in maintaining personal hygiene, maximizing their comfort, and fostering their abilities as well as minimising risks. 
  • You will promote and empower students to actively participate in college activities by providing support within college sessions and in the community at large. 
  • Effective communication serves as the cornerstone of our approach. By truly understanding the needs of our students, team members, and the organisation, you will ensure seamless implementation of an agreed care plan.
