The role

The Senior Expenditure Clerk, will be responsible for the processing purchase invoices for all YMCA England & Wales activities. You will be required to ensure the accurate and timely processing of invoices and payments. Ensure the purchase ledger is kept up to date and regularly monitored and reconciled.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process purchase invoices in accordance with published guidelines, including entry to the computerised ledgers;
  • Matching invoices to properly authorised purchase orders, liaising with budget holders where necessary to ensure that suppliers are paid in accordance with their terms of business.
  • Liaise with budget holders (in key directorates (CEO, Income Generation, PRCI, & Resources) to obtain authorisation to pay ensuring that suppliers are paid in accordance with their terms of business;
  • Liaise with suppliers (in particular utility companies) to resolve any payment queries;
  • Generating weekly payment runs and ensuring that these are authorised in accordance with internal procedures.
