As a Senior Buyer at Renishaw, you’ll effortlessly build long-term relationships, grow your market knowledge, and you find the hard to find, easy to find. You’ll work and strategise with the wider team to assure quality, continuity, and price. You’ll also take pride in your work, think outside the box, you are curious and encourage others’ curiosity, you take ownership and deliver. Hybrid working:
You’ll either be based at either our Woodchester (Stroud, M5 J13), or our Miskin (Pontyclun, M4 J34) manufacturing site, where you’ll have options for hybrid working, predominantly working 3 days in the office and 2 days from home per week. We also have a variable working pattern in place, where you can work a 4.5-day week and have a half day on a Friday.
Responsibilities:

Liaison with divisional design staff to support new component sourcing.

Development of the sourcing strategies to ensure they align with the technical and commercial needs of the business.

Effective management and control of supply chains to ensure that excellent service levels are maintained, and that production requirements and time scales are met.

Supplier price negotiation and management to ensure team cost management targets are realised.

Control of stock and planning parameters within an ERP environment, ensuring minimum stock levels are managed consistent with risk analysis.

Liaison both internally and externally to support resolution of quality related issues and problems.

The implementation of efficient supply chain communication and logistics solutions to ensure total acquisition costs are minimised
Requirements:
-
Experience of Purchasing direct materials in a fast paced, innovative, manufacturing environment and demonstrate a strategic approach to commodity purchasing.

Skilled in MRP/ERP, Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel.

Full driving licence.

An awareness of MRP/ERP and Stock Control processes.

The ability to communicate effectively at all levels both internally and externally will be required for this role.

An understanding of component manufacturing processes, life cycles and supply chain tiers/locations.

You’ll be comfortable influencing people and come with the knowledge and experience to operate effectively in ever-changing markets.
