Hours:
Monday to Friday (term time)Salary: £20,639 to £23,908 (depending on experience) Due to expansion, we are looking for highly motivated and creative SEN teaching assistants in line with our 2025 pupil intake.
At Esland Grantham School, we offer high-quality education to 7 to 18-year-olds with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) with the primary need of Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH).
Using our Turning the Curve™ model, we support vulnerable young people to “turn the curve” on their past experiences and build towards a positive new chapter.
About our schools:
The duties of a Teaching Assistant include (but are not limited to):
- Contributing to the development and effective delivery of childcare and manage processes and procedures in line with the philosophy of the company including
- Being alert to signs of distress or abuse
- Talking and listening to the young people and observing and recording behaviour when necessary
- Contributing to and implementing care planning, reviews and other meetings
- Attending and contributing to supervisions and staff meetings as required, ensuring smooth and comprehensive handovers take place and ensuring reporting rules and guidelines are adhered to
- Being prepared to physically intervene and restrain young people (following appropriate training)
- Undertaking all tasks and duties as directed by the HLTA or Headteacher, to support young people and manage and monitor pupil risk during educational activities
- Participating and supporting young people during outdoor/ indoor activities
- Preparing and presenting displays of student work
- Working with other professionals, such as Therapists and Occupational Therapists, Residential Care Workers as necessary
What we are looking for:
- GCSE Level including Math, English & Science
- Teaching assistant experience (highly desirable)
- Teaching assistant qualification (desirable)
- Excellent planning and organisational skills
- Self-starter who demonstrates a high level of motivation and commitment
- Full manual driving licence (desirable due to activities/location)
