Reporting to the Business Improvement & Mobile Plant Manager and adopting a continuous improvement approach, the Team Leader is responsible for ensuring safe, environmentally sound, efficient operations within their area of responsibility in meeting product quality targets with a driving focus on yield improvement and cost reduction.

To Supervise and develop a high performing team that works collaboratively with wider site functions.

  • Works with their manager to contribute ideas and to grow and develop the existing business and support sustainable growth
  • Monitor and advise on any issues that present a risk or opportunity to the business
  • Liaising with the regional SHEQ team, Ensures a safe, healthy and environmentally sound workplace and culture for all colleagues customers and visitors and ensures that their team is operating within all legislative requirements & licence conditions
  • Ensure landed costs of material falls within agreed parameters
  • Build, maintain and support local depot relationships and promote and improve communications between customers and the business
  • Delivers excellence and continuous improvement in customer service as measured by NPS and uses customer feedback to enhance the local customer experience and increase purchase tonnes
  • Understand sales and logistics requirements
  • Day-to-day efficient leading of their team cooperating closely with Operations, commercial and transport teams
  • Monitors KPI’s, Utilises business systems , tools and reports (e.g. T2) to monitor and analyse performance, developing data based insights to identify and implement performance improvements
  • Ensuring Stock & Quality checks are reported and maintained and material is appropriately graded and priced
  • Implements lean management and business improvement techniques to  engage their team in optimising  plant and operational performance
  • Builds a stable team supported with the appropriate training and development of talent to deliver against current and future demands
  • Ensures that EMR is a great place to work by ensuring that all colleagues feel valued and respected, are actively engaged in the success of the business, are enabled to perform at their best and recognised for their achievements
  • Proven track record of successful team building
  • IT literate with the ability to think analytically and laterally
  • High level of verbal and written communication skills in order to communicate effectively to the operational department
  • Ability to work efficiently and accurately 
  • Able to listen and follow instructions to complete a task
  • To be flexible in approach and to be comfortable with a fluid organisation structure that requires both teamwork and self–sufficiency as necessary
