Overview

We are hiring and have an exciting opportunity for a PMO Manager for Governance to join our growing business.

In this role you will be required to create, define, launch and then maintain IRIS’s new PMO strategy across the organisation. The strategy will enhance delivery and governance of projects and programmes across IRIS. You will be focused on overseeing important internal change ensuring standards, consistent processes and adherence to methodologies to assist in achieving successful project outcomes and PMO Operational Excellence. You will also be responsible for maintaining and presenting a portfolio view of all projects in scope for the role.

You will collaborate closely with senior leadership and cross functional teams whilst leading their team to drive continuous improvement initiatives. You will be accountable for all communications issued by the wider PMO team, own the communications strategy and deliver succinct, simple messaging through optimal channels that are continuously reviewed for improvements.

This role is critical in providing key oversights of full portfolio of work including risks, issues and ensuring that all work has continuous alignment with IRIS strategic goals and in ensuring delivery risks are resolved or escalated for action.

 

What you'll be doing

  • Create, implement and refine effective policies and processes that guide the PMO functions, their activities and the teams working on IRIS projects and programmes to ensure consistency, compliance and effective operations that meet both the current and future needs of the business.
  • Stakeholder Leadership, to enable key stakeholders to make effective contributions, but ensures these align with organisational priorities, facilitates collaboration, information sharing and mitigates potential risks, promotes accountability and a ‘one IRIS’ culture.
  • Collaborating with project teams to ensure adherence to governance standards and methodologies and providing coaching when required.
  • Delivers training and support for others in delivering projects and programmes
  • Providing quality assurance on projects and implementing procedures to mitigate risk and ensuring risks are appropriately managed.
  • Deliver and maintain effective reporting documentation throughout the project lifecycle and engage with senior leadership on key updates and findings.
  • Drive continuous improvement of IRIS’ projects and processes and maintain frameworks that support IRIS’ goals and overall strategy.
  • Create, lead and develop a PMO team, fostering collaboration and accountability.
  • Proficiency in Change Management and Control enables IRIS to understand and control the costs and benefits of organizational change and minimize avoidable disruption to the wider business and our customers by developing evidence-based recommendations that are strategically aligned to business objectives.

 

What we are seeking

  • Experience in a senior PMO management role or governance-focused role
  • Proven ability to lead, manage and develop teams
  • Private Equity and SaaS experience desirable
  • Deep understanding and knowledge of governance standards.
  • Excellent knowledge of project management methodologies such as PRINCE2, P3O, Agile.
  • Strong communication and ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders
  • The ability to advocate best practice in governance and its pragmatic deployment.
  • A degree level or similar qualification, in a related field, project management or business would be advantageous
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to proactively identify opportunities and insights
  • High levels of motivation and commitment
  • Attention to detail and ability to simultaneously manage projects whilst maintaining data integrity
  • In depth knowledge of tools such as O365 and Asana and the adaptability to adopt new tools to improve PMO performance.
