Motorpoint is seeking a dedicated IT Operations Manager to oversee and manage the company’s IT service desk operations and end-user computing environments.

As an IT Operations Manager, you will play a vital role in maintaining the security, reliability, and efficiency of our IT infrastructure, ensuring an exceptional user experience for both our employees and customers. We are looking for a candidate with a strong background in service desk management, end-user computing, and a primary focus on security and user satisfaction.

Title: IT Operations Manager 

Location: Hybrid (Derby office with a minimum of twice a week) 

Contract: Permanent 

What will you be getting up to? 

Service Desk Management:

  • Lead, mentor, and manage the IT service desk team to ensure efficient issue resolution and timely response to user requests
  • Develop and maintain service desk processes, including incident management, problem resolution, and change management
  • Continuously improve service desk performance through data-driven analysis and feedback.

End-User Computing:

  • Oversee the deployment, maintenance, and support of end-user computing devices, including laptops, desktops, and mobile devices
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance the end-user experience by optimizing hardware and software configurations
  • Ensure all end-user computing solutions adhere to security and compliance standards

Security Focus:

  • Champion and enforce security best practices across the organization, including data protection, network security, and user access controls
  • Collaborate with the information security team to identify and mitigate security risks, vulnerabilities, and incidents.

Infrastructure Management:

  • Maintain and optimize the IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and cloud services
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan and execute infrastructure upgrades and migrations.

Vendor and Stakeholder Management:

  • Manage relationships with IT service providers and vendors to ensure efficient service delivery and cost-effectiveness
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their IT requirements and align technology solutions with business goals
  • Demonstrable experience working with management tools such as Microsoft Intune.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging innovation and efficiency in IT operations
  • Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the effectiveness of IT operations.


What would we like from you?  

  • Proven experience in IT service desk management, end-user computing, and IT operations leadership using tools such as Microsoft Intune
  • Strong understanding of IT security best practices and experience implementing security measures
  • Demonstrated experience working in a customer-centric, user-focused environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • IT certifications such as ITIL, CompTIA Security+, and relevant vendor-specific certifications are a plus.
