Salary: £25,238 – £26,499 (+ £750 Car Allowance) per annum – depending on skills

About the role
We are now recruiting for an Independent Domestic Violence Advisor to work with victims of domestic abuse referred by Multi Agency Risk Assessment Conference process (MARAC), assessed as being high risk or very high risk and coordinate a multi-agency response that aims to reduce and manage risk.
The postholder should be willing to work towards specialising in working with and understanding the dynamics of substance misuse and the impact this has on victims of domestic abuse. The post holder should have a keen interest in this subject and working with victims of domestic abuse who misuse substances. Supporting and empowering them to access support and maintain their safety and that of their family.
You will work in partnership with the police and others to establish and refine procedures for referral to IDVA to MARAC. You will maintain focus on managing and reducing risk to victims and their families.
You must be able to manage caseloads and prioritise cases according to the level of risk and also maintain and update records.

It is essential that you are able to demonstrate a working knowledge of the effects of domestic abuse on victims and children and form supportive, professional relationships with customers and enable individuals to identify and pursue their goals.
You must have strong written and verbal communication and IT skills including Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
It is essential that you have a Full UK driving licence with access to your own vehicle.
