Salary: £30,841 (£24,673 pro rata) per annum

Hours: 30 hours per week

With over 50 years’ experience of supporting people with mental health difficulties within our local communities, we always strive to challenge the stigma that surrounds mental distress.

 

We have an exciting new opportunity for an experienced individual to provide effective and positive health and safety advice and support. You will complete risk assessments, including RIDDOR, help to engage and train managers /supervisors in performing task-based risk assessments. You’ll be creative in your approach and be passionate about ensuring all staff adhere to the relevant H&S requirement. Organised and meticulous, you will be responsible for monitoring incidents and accidents, as well as identifying and improving health and safety practises within the organisation. You will carry out regular inspections and audits of offices, service environments and general communal areas.

 

We’re looking for an individual who can think outside the box and can demonstrate a good understanding the use of H&S equipment and techniques. You’ll be accustomed to assisting with any accident investigations, as well as keeping accurate, and up to date detailed records.

 

With experience in an H&S role, you will be able to interpret and provide advice on health and safety and risk management issues. You will hold a recognised qualification such as NEBOSH or in Occupational Health and Safety and be studying towards, or prepared to study towards NEBOSH Diploma, NCRQ or NVQ Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety.  You will have a good understanding of Equal Opportunities and be able to demonstrate a positive attitude to people who have experienced mental health difficulties.

 

We’re looking for a confident communicator who can discuss issues with all levels of staff across the organisation, the ability to and listen and take onboard any concerns relating to health and safety matters.
