Overview
- Play an active role in driving forward the risk management strategy as agreed by the Plc Board
- Understand and respond to changes in corporate governance and risk management best practice
- Consider the Group’s principal risks and continuously review these systems
- Risk identification and monitoring – consider how the Group identifies new risks and monitor changes to the existing risk environment
- Develop and roll out a refreshed risk register model across the organisational structure
- Develop frameworks for measuring risk and reporting emerging trends
- Training – support how employees are made aware of RM in the Group and shape the awareness programme
- Working closely with the Internal Audit team to review risk mitigation measures
- Participate in change programmes/ projects and provide support in respect to in-flight risk management
- Review risk events and assess for likely repeat issues across the Group structure
- Act of as a focal point for all risk enquiries
- Risk Committee – provide analysis for the Risk Committee to consider. Action areas defined by the Risk Committee
- Play an active part in the risk sub-committees – compliance, transport, procurement
- Knowledge of plc corporate environment and the corporate governance expectations on such companies
- Experience of internal audit or risk management practices. Possess the ability to translate RM theory into practice
- Confident communicator who can manage relationships and is comfortable addressing
- conflict and resistance to change
- Ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate complex ideas clearly and concisely
- Experience of managing multiple work streams at one time – ability to work on own initiative
- Excellent presentation skills being able to present to a varied audience in an appropriate manner
- Proven ability to take ownership of workloads and work on an independent and team basis
- Adopts a logical and structured approach to work and demonstrates attention to detail. Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
- Displays a positive attitude and innovative approach to problem solving and is able to justifying decisions made
- Excellent analysis and interpretation skills. Strong Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills
