Finance Business Partner

Are you a fully qualified accountant looking for your next role? Do you have commercial finance experience gained in a fast paced business, ideally within the hospitality or leisure industries? If so, we have a brilliant opportunity for a Finance Business Partner.

As Finance Business Partner, you will be responsible for the production of accurate P&L pre and post events including profiling, attendance and SPH assumptions. You will produce accurate & timely Weekly, Monthly and Rolling Forecasts and annual budgeting/forecasting process. You will engage key initiatives and strategies to optimise margin delivery and undertake analysis of business segmentation and profitability.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Support the Regional Operations Directors and Business Director ensuring strong commercial and operational decision making, managing financial risks and opportunities
  • Develop strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including colleagues, customers and subcontractors
  • Work with the wider finance team to continually develop KPIs and ensure that end users are focusing on the right metrics to drive profitable growth
  • Preparation and review of annual budgets and reforecasting
  • Month end journals and accounts closure
  • Preparation and review of monthly management information including in depth variance analysis and underlying performance reporting
  • Prepare monthly business review pack and present at MD/Head of Finance monthly meeting
  • Balance sheet reviews and compliance with Group Accounting Manual, maintaining a full and up to date understanding of SAP and Nexus
  • Promote working capital improvements through timely, accurate contract billing and active management of debt ledgers
  • Calculate and manage the financial risks and opportunities arising from volumetric and other contract mechanisms
  • Financial oversight for all contract amendments and service pricing, ensuring pricing strategy is applied consistently
  • Challenge and appraise investment decisions
  • Delivering proactive ad-hoc financial analysis to support business unit decision making
  • Line manage and develop a team
  • CIMA/ACCA/ACA with 3+ years of post-qualification experience
  • Commercial experience gained in large contract management
  • Preparation and review of budgeting and forecasting in a matrix environment
  • Advanced excel and modelling
  • Clear evidence of Business Partnering with non-financial colleagues up to a senior level
  • Be comfortable working with uncertainty and in a fast paced environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills and stakeholder management
  • Well-developed critical thinking and problem solving with an ability to clearly present outcomes and influence stakeholders
  • Results orientated, with ability to take decisions when necessary and the resilience to be challenged
  • A team player but with the ability to work on own initiative
  • Line management experience
