We have a fantastic opportunity to join the Greggs Digital team as a Digital Product Owner. The Product Owner will be responsible for driving the development of our mobile app (iOS and Android) or group websites, ensuring they deliver exceptional outcomes for our customers and the business.
The successful candidate will work as part of an Agile product development team and will be responsible for prioritising customer-first, outcome-led features that enhance our digital experiences and align with our strategic direction – whether through exciting app features related to rewards & loyalty, or by evolving Greggs.co.uk, Corporate, and Careers sites to meet evolving user needs.
This critical role will act as the key interface into the team’s internal and external stakeholders including the Greggs Digital team, IT/Technology, Customer/Marketing, Retail, Commercial and third-party partner agencies to ensure our digital products enable our customers to engage with Greggs in a fast, friendly and frictionless way every day.
We are looking for candidates with a customer-first approach and a data-led mindset who will take an empirical approach to prioritisation with the overall goal of making our digital experiences as effective as possible for our customers and/or colleagues.

About the role
- This is a full-time role, however flexibility in this will be considered
- We have one permanent position as well as one 18-month fixed term contract available

- The base location for this role is Newcastle upon Tyne
What you’ll do

Develop a deep understanding of customer and business needs, our digital products, and the competitive landscape.

Hold customer listening sessions, utilise user research and regularly review product performance using tools such as GA4, Firebase, Hotjar, Launch Darkly and Power BI to develop a deep understanding of the customer.

Invest time in building relationships across the business, gathering an understanding of business processes and needs, and working closely with stakeholders throughout the discovery & development process.

Maintain a strong understanding of the FTG market, developing an unrivalled knowledge of competitor’s digital products and the technology landscape.

Own the product roadmap and backlog, working closely with the Digital Product Manager to determine product strategy and identify key focus areas.

Be accountable for the product discovery process; coordinating sessions for upcoming items and ensuring progression through the discovery pipeline and onto the backlog.

Work closely with Product Analysts, Agile Delivery Leads, and Tech Leads to ensure you discover, refine and prioritise the backlog of work to build customer-centric products.

Work with UX/UI & User Research to ensure we research, test and deliver appropriate designs.

Pursue customer and business value in an empirical way ensuring there is accurate monitoring of results and adjusting strategy and tactics based upon performance.

Work closely with other teams such as the CRM team or Click & Collect team and the wider Digital team to help deliver Greggs’ overall digital roadmap.
About you
You will fit right into this role if you are a highly experienced, talented individual with drive, who can demonstrate:

Passion for building digital products that deliver value to customers.

Existing experience in delivering both iOS and Android Mobile Apps and / or best-in-class websites in an Agile product development environment.

Excellent communication skills to allow effective working relationships with all team members and stakeholders, building trust, listening, influencing and keeping everyone informed of progress or changes in approach.

Cross functional leader who enjoys seeking diverse input and collaborating with multiple stakeholder groups to reach the best possible outcomes for our customers and the business.

Strong organisational skills to allow you to balance multiple competing priorities and retain a focus on that which is most important.

A data-led mindset, comfortable working with different types of data, using it to make informed prioritisation decisions and presenting insights to stakeholders in a clear and understanding way. Exposure to A/B or MVT testing would also be preferable.

Technical literacy and working understanding of architecture, SDK implementation and cloud services or 3rd party tools relevant to mobile App / Website development.

An ability to balance both tactical and strategic product requirements daily as needed in a fast-paced retail environment.
