Class 1 Driver – Booker Distribution
Location: Hatfield, Hertfordshire, AL10 9TR
Shift Hours: 45 hrs per week (Any 5 from 7)
Salary: £18.15 plus a number of additional shift premiums
We have a fantastic opportunity to join our Distribution Centre as a Class 1 Driver. Our Regional Distribution centres supply our 198 cash and carry sites with all their products including Fresh, Frozen and Ambient stock.
Drivers will be required to work 45 hours plus overtime per week, any five from seven days but must include Monday and Friday, so there will be some weekend working at premium rates.
LGV 1 drivers will be delivering to cash and carry branches all over the South and must have at least 2 years driving experience.
All applicants must be CPC qualified to be considered for this role. Also applicants will not be considered if they have more than 6 points on their licence, ‘Careless Driving’, prosecution for mobile phone use or drink driving or have failed to comply with ‘Construction of Use’.
- Effective verbal and written communication with site and external customers
- Having knowledge of the Working Time Regulations, ensuring driving hours remain compliant week to week
- Being responsible for the reporting of all vehicle defects
- Knowledge of tachograph rules and regulations
- Geographical knowledge
- Tail lift operation
- Single/multi-drop experience
- Vehicle compliant
- Must have a valid Digital Tachograph
- Must hold full CAT C+E (Class 1) licence
- Must hold valid Drivers Qualification Card (CPC Card)
Full induction in Booker procedures, risk assessments and safe systems of work will be given to the successful candidates.
