Casual Relief Support Officer – Young People
Can you help young people achieve their aspirations and move on into independent living? If so, you may be interested in our exciting opportunity for a Support Officer to join the team at our Young People's Supported Housing Project in Wisbech.
Fenland Young People’s Project is a busy, lively service which provides shared accommodation to young people who might otherwise be at risk of becoming homeless. Staff provide support and guidance, for young people aged 16-25 who are preparing to move on to independent living. Your role will be to get alongside young people, help them to decide on and achieve their goals, and work closely with other agencies to provide comprehensive practical and emotional support. You will be joining a supportive and collaborative team.
The successful candidate will have experience of supporting young people, excellent listening and communication skills, an ability to work without direct supervision and to maintain office records and the data management system. At times you will need to be firm, and able to respond confidently and effectively to challenging situations. You will be assertive and assured with young people and a willing member of our team.
You will be regularly working on your own and will take responsibility for the project during these times. Whilst working alone you will have access to 24 hour support.
