Lewisham College are looking to appoint an experienced professional who will be responsible for the planning, development and evaluation of learner support services, you will manage the learner journey from point of application, ensuring a high quality application and enrolment learner experience. You will have overall responsibility for ensuring learners receive high quality careers education, information, advice and guidance, financial and welfare support and are able to overcome barriers so that they can achieve their qualifications. You will ensure effective development and use of new technologies to support the delivery of high standards in teaching learning and assessment.

You will also be the Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead and hold responsibility for the day to day safeguarding of students, staff and other stakeholders.

You will work closely with the Vice Principal Learner Experience and Resources to ensure operational plans help achieve the strategic aims of NCG and Lewisham College.

You will be educated to degree level or have equivalent educational attainment and experience. We are looking for a candidate that is driven and highly motivated who can work to tight deadlines whilst remaining calm under pressure. You will be expected to have led and managed successful teams and can demonstrate how you have implemented quality processes and procedures through measurable outcomes. It will be essential that you are able to write clear and concise reports, manage a large budget and preferably have knowledge of funding rules and associated implications and current developments in education, particularly post-16. The role will require the successful candidate to champion equality, diversity and inclusion and work with a diverse range of learners to raise aspirations and promote opportunity for all.

Lewisham College is part of the Newcastle College Group (NCG) and attracts learners from a number of London Boroughs. We deliver a wide range of technical, vocational and community courses for both young people and adults. Many of our students study English for Speakers of Other Languages. We work closely with schools, the local community and employers to ensure our students are prepared for the world of work by having the appropriate qualifications, skills and industry knowledge to become successful citizens.
