We’re a vibrant, fast-paced leading food manufacturer, employing around 13,600 colleagues across 16 manufacturing units and 17 distribution depots across the UK. We supply all the UK’s food retailers with everything from Sandwiches, soups and sushi to cooking sauces, pickles and ready meals, and in FY23, we generated revenues of £1.9bn.
Our vast direct-to-store (DTS) distribution network, comprising of 17 depots nationwide, enables us to make over 10,400 daily deliveries of our own chilled and frozen produce and that of third parties.
Role Purpose:
To lead the shared service centre transactional team to ensure accurate and timely processing of transactions by monitoring accounting practices and supervising colleagues whilst personally managing queries, maintaining and developing key performance indicators, driving process improvements and supporting the wider finance function.
Key Accountabilities:
  • Lead the team responsible for daily accounting activities and reporting required to accurately maintain relevant control accounts and ledgers ensuring all reporting deadlines are achieved
  • Develop and train supervisors to ensure business processes are known and adhered to consistently
  • Monitor key performance indicators across the function to ensure these are reported on time and accuracy is achieved
  • Identify finance recording and processing capability building requirements across the business to improve accurate use of business processes and provide plans and support

  • Oversee the preparation and monitoring of weekly cash flows to communicate the cash requirements of the business
  • Using transactional key performance indicators to identify and improve process deficiencies and communicate performance insight
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
  • Experince in finance system management and financial internal controls
  • Experince managening and devloping a team
  • Substantial numeracy skills and impeccable attention to detail
  • Experience of working in a similar finance environment
  • Advanced Excel skills
