Our Campuses
Over the last decade, Northumbria has invested more than £250m in its campuses to provide students with a world-class experience during their time with the University.
Our estate in Newcastle comprises of two campuses, one in the heart of the city and one just three miles away at Coach Lane. With its award-winning architecture, modern teaching buildings and impressive sports facilities, the City campus creates an environment that encourages learning and self-development. Coach Lane Campus is home to all students from the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences, and has excellent computing and library services, its own modern Students’ Union, and new sports facilities.
We also offer courses in London, where our campus is ideally situated just minutes away from Liverpool Street station.
Our Culture
At Northumbria, we are proud of our work to develop a values-based, inclusive culture and our Northumbria Values and Behaviours have been developed by colleagues, for colleagues, at all levels.
Our Values are a set of guiding principles that collectively define who we are, what we do, and what’s most important to us. Our Behaviours, quite simply, are the practical application of our values, translating them into day-to-day actions. They provide clarity on how we do things and how we work together at Northumbria, reflecting our inclusive culture and our decision-making. They’re all about how we work, communicate and collaborate at our best – therefore, they are important and relevant to each and every one of us.
Equality, Diversity and Inclusion
At Northumbria, we are proud to be a multi-cultural community. We value diversity and are determined to ensure that the opportunities we provide are open to all. Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) strongly underpin our University’s Strategy 2030. At Northumbria, we have long been aware that there is a compelling moral case for equality. Therefore, as well as implementing our legislative duties, we are striving to create a community that positively welcomes diversity and that we create a community of fairness and belonging.
We believe that our people play the most crucial role in enabling us to achieve our ambitions. A diverse, inclusive workforce is essential in promoting a culture where everyone feels safe and empowered to generate ideas and achieve their potential. Learn more about why EDI matters.
