Childbase Partnership
Fun is an essential ingredient in all Childbase Partnership nurseries where the care and education opportunities for each and every child are as extraordinary as our colleagues who provide them.
Rated ‘world class’ by Best Companies (2021), and a Great Workplace in 2022, the employee-owned Childbase Partnership has been listed as a ‘UK Top Company to Work For’ for 14 years.
Our success is rooted in a commitment to the individual, professionally and personally, because we have proven that employee well-being, engagement and retention is critical to consistently high provision.
In 2017 Childbase Partnership moved to employee ownership ensuring all colleagues benefit from the company’s commercial success and are invested in the long-term future of the company. As a result, it has created a climate that actively encourages innovation which continues to impact quality.
100% Employee Owned Since 2017
What is Employee-Ownership and why does it make a difference to the care and education provided?
Childbase Partnership, founded in 1989, has been 100% Employee-Owned since 2017, the first Early Years company to transition in the UK. Every member of the company is a ‘partner’ invested in providing superior care and early years education to each child and tailored support for their families.
Founded on the principle that employee wellbeing, engagement and retention is critical to consistently high-quality provision, all partners work under the banner ‘We All Contribute, We All Benefit’. It is the collective efforts of all partners that drives our overall success.
Employee Ownership keeps the focus on people and creates empowerment, which breeds a happier working environment and a continual pursuit for excellence. Our awards include achieving Number 1 in the national Nursery World Quality League Table in 2024, for the most ‘Outstanding’ and ‘Good’ Ofsted inspection outcomes in the UK, and The Princess Royal Award for our staff training. We were the Sunday Times 100 best company to work for in 2019 and have decades-long innovative environmental initiatives and a proud tradition of ‘giving back’ with charity fundraising and support for local worthy causes amounting to over £3.5 million in our 35-year history.
Diversity Forum
As well as providing Diversity and Equality training for all staff members, Childbase Partnership has its own Diversity Forum to continuously ensure policy and practice is wholly inclusive and that discrimination, in all its forms, has no place within the company. This forum is tasked with challenging unconscious bias, creating better understanding between colleagues and affecting positive change by sharing their lived experiences. The work does not stop there for the organisation, who are now focused on becoming accredited with the Investors in Diversity Award for their commitment to all colleagues and families.
Daryl Forde, Chair of the Childbase Diversity Forum explained;
“For us as a company, this is essential quality practice and not something that is tokenistic, we realise the importance of colleagues being their authentic selves and the positive impact this has on wellbeing, also resulting in the best possible care and outcomes for our children.”
Childbase Partnership has dominated UK ‘Best Companies to Work For’ Lists for 14 years. The company has been rated world class for its respect and support of colleagues, and leads the way in climate-positive action and environmental achievements.
